IPOA Speaks After Garissa Terror Attack

The Independent Policing Oversight Authority (IPOA) expressed condolences and steadfast support for two police officers who were ambushed by al-Shabaab insurgents in Northern Kenya on Wednesday, December 21.

One cop was killed, while another is currently recovering at the hospital where he was transferred by his colleagues who responded to their distress calls.

According to IPOA the cruel crime was committed against the Galmagalla Police Station vehicle in Bura East Subcounty, Garissa County.

IPOA denounced the horrible conduct in a statement issued on Thursday, December 22, calling it cowardly and barbaric.

According to the local Deputy County Commissioner, the vehicle missed a roadside explosion before being hit by a rocket-propelled grenade.

According to Deputy County Commissioner Thomas Bett, the incident occurred roughly six kilometers from a Chinese construction site on the LAPSSET project.
