Kanze Dena Hands Over Spokesperson Role to Hussein

Dena took to Instagram on Friday to express her gratitude to God and President William Ruto for a smooth transition. While accepting the position, she expressed confidence in Mohammed's abilities.

Kanze Dena, the outgoing State House Spokesperson, has handed over the docket to Hussein Mohammed.

Dena took to Instagram on Friday to express her gratitude to God and President William Ruto for a smooth transition. While accepting the position, she expressed confidence in Mohammed’s abilities.

“Kazi kwako…. natambua uwezo wako,” she said, “the work begins… I know your abilities.”

Dena had earlier come out to publicly celebrate her five-year tenure as President.

Former Head of State Uhuru Kenyatta appointed Dena as a spokesperson in the Executive Office of the President in 2017.

The former Citizen TV journalist would also lead the President’s Strategic Communication Unit (PSCU), making her the first woman in Kenyan history to do so.

Dena shared a slideshow video of photos highlighting her cherished moments in the last five years, including her marriage and motherhood, in a social media post titled ‘The Completion of a Season’ on Sunday.

Former President Uhuru Kenyatta was thanked by the former news anchor for giving her the opportunity to serve under his administration, saying she had learned valuable lessons during her tenure.

“I’d like to take this opportunity to thank… the PSCU team; the season would not have been possible without your help.”

Dena went on to thank her family and friends for their unwavering support and prayers for her.

The former PSCU boss also expressed gratitude to her parents and husband for stepping up to support their family when her work became too demanding.
