Kenya Airways (KQ) has said its local booking offices in Johannesburg, South Africa, and Kisumu, Kenya, will be closed on Monday, March 20, 2023, and will reopen on Tuesday due to planned protests in these cities.
However, the airline said that all of its other offices, including airport offices in Johannesburg and Kisumu, will stay open throughout this time.
Azimio la Umoja, led by Raila Odinga, plans to conduct demonstrations on Monday to demand electoral reforms ahead of the 2027 elections, among other things.
Customers who planned to visit the affected offices on Monday should make other plans or contact the airline.
This comes as the police deny protest permission due to late notification, making tomorrow’s protests illegal. However, Interior CS Kithure Kindiki has yet to say if the protests are legitimate or not.
