BY FAITH MUTETE – The Kenya Dairy Board has seized the shipment of  powdered milk in Nairobi which has been considered to be substandard and illegal.

The raid was conducted by a team from the Kenya Dairy Board and Anti-Counterfeit Authority where they were able to get over 16,000 Litres of milk in a one hour operation.

KDB Managing director Margaret Kibogy said that they had discovered the milk had not been registered in their systems and had been worded in Arabic which against regulations that state that any shipment that comes into the country should either be in English or Swahili.

This comes after dairy farmers raised concerns of the influx of cheap products into the country which are affecting their growth.
