Several people have been injured while an unknown number are believed to dead in an accident involving a 14 seater matatu and a lorry.
The accident occurred at Sotik Keroka road, a few paces from a county roadblock in Nyaronde area.
According to eyewitness accounts, it is alleged that the lorry rammed head-on into the matatu while trying to avoid being flagged down by Nyamira county officers.
The injured were rushed to the nearby hospitals. Families have also been urged to report to nearby health facilities to identify their kin.
