KNUN calls for immediate resignation of Health CS Kagwe over COVID-19 scandal

KNUN Secretary-General Seth Panyako vowed to mobilize all nurses to paralyze activities if their demands are not met.

Kenya National Union of Nurses (KNUN), led by its Secretary-General, Seth Panyako has requested Health CS Mutahi Kagwe to step down before Monday 31st August.

Panyako called upon President Uhuru to sack CS Kagwe and other top officials in order to put them under investigations over gross abuse of office and graft.

“Kagwe and Mochache should resign before Monday and if they don’t, President Uhuru should sack them before they do more damage at the ministry,” he said.

Panyako also pointed his gun at Kakamega Governor Wycliffe Oparanya, to present reports over how Ksh.100M in fight against COVID-19.

“We know, we want Oparanya to tell us how this money was used especially since there is no lab to test for coronavirus, there are no reagents yet the money was disbursed,” Panyako said.

Panyako called upon international donors to investigate the loss of billions donated to the fight against COVID-19. He wants the United Nations to open investigations and demand reports over how the monies were used.

The union has joined calls by various legislators, who have accused the ministry of corruption, after damning regulations against them by KEMSA leadership.
