Leaders Warn Competitors Ahead Of Ruto Visit

Local leaders have cautioned competitors against disruptions during Deputy President William Ruto’s visit to South Rift.

After his rally in Eldoret, Uasin Gishu county, DP Ruto will visit Bomet and Kericho on Monday.

In both counties, incumbents have been under fire for weak development records and fierce resistance from people and aspirants vying for seats in the upcoming general election.

There have also been reports that several politicians want to bring their fans to the meetings in order to jeer their opponents.

According to Barchok, the county is one of the DP’s strongholds, and leaders should avoid sideshows.

Barchok, who appeared to be criticizing his opponent Chama Cha Mashinani (CCM) party head Isaac Rutto, stated the gathering is solely a United Democratic Alliance (UDA) party affair.

“If you plan to attend, you are welcome to do so because we are all citizens of Bomet. However, we do not want to be dictated to on who will speak and who will not.”

“Allow us to conduct the program the way we know how if you are not a member of the party,” Barchok remarked.

He also warned locals about politicians using them to indulge in disorderly behaviour.
