Locusts Invasion: CS Munya admits to poor regional coordination

Agriculture and livestock Cabinet Secretary Peter Munya has linked the devastating locust menace with poor co-ordination between Kenya and its neighbors; Somalia and Ethiopia.

The new Cabinet secretary has promised to handle the problem regionally as a more sustainable solution as opposed to Kenya alone.

He assured the country that lessons have been learnt and such happenings going forward will be dealt with more efficiently.

Munya also mentioned that records of breeding areas have been kept and teams are on the ground in different areas training locals on how to handle the situation in the future.

He assured the country that the situation is under control now and the fight will continue until the desert locusts’ are wiped out.
