Makueni: Kins Burned For Failing To Attend Family Meeting

Three people are being treated at Mbumbuni hospital in Mbooni East, Makueni, for injuries sustained after being allegedly burned by family members for failing to attend a family meeting at Nduluku.

According to one of the victims, Gedion Ndambuki, they were burned on January 2, 2023, by family members who had gathered at their home in Itulu village, Nduluku.

“They were accusing us of not attending a family meeting and area assistant chief who is my brother was present in the meeting, they tied our hands and legs and threw us on fire leaving us with serious injuries,” he said.

Ndambuki, his brother Jackson Mutisya Wambua, and their cousin Boniface Masaku are recovering from injuries all over their bodies at Mbumbuni sub-county hospital.

“After burning us they slaughtered a goat ate and went home, “Mutisya said.

The fourth victim is yet to report to the hospital.

The three now claim that they are unable to walk or sit and were brought in by a good Samaritan.

Attempts to get a comment from Nduluku location acting chief James Mateng’e were futile.

The matter is currently being investigated by the police.
