Judiciary Responds To Frustrated Man Complaining Over Delayed Case

Malindi Law Court has moved at a top speed to save its reputation after an old man in search of Justice accused the said Court of being the poorly performing court on Earth.

Mr Carlos Taka, 68, was yesterday forced by circumstances to lose his temper while inside one of the Courtrooms in the Court after the trial Magistrate deemed it fit to keep adjourning his case at the expense of his time and Justice.

In a quick rejoinder, the Court has come out publicly stating that indeed, Carlos Taka was charged before the said court with the offence of obtaining money by false pretence and impersonating a public officer.

However, upon arraignment in Court, the investigating officer objected for Mr. Taka to be released on bond citing that he has no known place of abode and had no Identity card.

According to a letter from the Judiciary dated October 19, 2022, the Court upheld his right to bond and he was granted bond of Ksh 200,000 which was later reduced to Ksh 150,000 at his request.

The court notes that a total of 4 witnesses in the case have so far testified with the prosecution remaining with 2 more witnesses.

The court notes that Taka’s case was adjourned on Monday, October 17 following a request by the ODPP. The Court proceeds to say that Taka’s case has so far been handled with all possible fairness.
