Businessman Mark Mbogo Okul was arraigned in Court at City Hall and charged with stealing 700 jerrycans each 20-litre Rina cooking oil contrary to the Law.
According to the charge sheet, he allegedly committed the offence on 20th December 2021.
The prosecution told Court that the oil was initially worth Ksh 3,192,000 and that he was to remit Ksh 5,516,000 to the supplier after selling the oil.
The oil according to Court records belonged to Daniel Ngumbau Muia and had been stored at the NCPB depot in the Industrial area at the time of the offence.
He was arrested and arraigned in Court where he faced charges in 6 counts including forgery.
Appearing before Hon Oganyo Chief Magistrate City Court 1, Mbogo pleaded not guilty and was released on a cash bail of Khs 1 million and a surety of Ksh 2 million by a Milimani Magistrate Court.
The case will be mentioned on September 9, 2022.
