Marsabit Crackdown Recovers Lethal Guns

Multi-Agency officers in Marsabit police station on Tuesday, May 10, conducted an operation within Manyatta where they managed to recover illegal firearms.

According to a police report seen by Uzalendo News, the officers, led by Operation Commander Mr. Bernard Mbatha, recovered a G3 riffle, 3 AK 47 riffles, GPMG riffle, 6 AK 47 empty magazines, 3 G3 rifle empty magazines, 175 rounds of 7.62*39MM special, 19 rounds of 7.62*39MM, 385 rounds of 7.62*54 MM belted 171, 66 empty cartilages of 7.62*54 MM, 3 improvised porches, 2 jungle belts and 500ML of suspected flammable liquid.

Two polythene sacks, 40 soft care carrier diaper bags, a green and blue carrier bag, and one black nylon bag were also recovered.

Among those arrested during the “Rudisha Amani Marsabit” operation include; Umuro Galgallo Guyo, 22, Adan Hassan Abdi, 27, Hassan Jilo Dido, 34, Badake Duba Boru, 70, Jarso Diido Gabra, 42, Jarso Molu Bilala, 32, Dokata Guyo Dido, 23, and Isack Yattani Mamo.

“All recovered firearms and ammunitions have been kept in Marsabit police station armory awaiting further police action and alignment in court,” the police report read.  

The arrested were taken into custody and will face charges for illegally possessing firearms.
