Haaland Homecoming: Mancity Close Deal On ‘Young Stunner’

After months of speculation, the cat is finally out of the bag: Erling Haaland will complete his transfer from Bundesliga club Borussia Dortmund to reigning Premier League champions Manchester City this summer.

Since making his professional debut as a 15-year-old in 2017, the Norwegian sensation has soared to the top of the game, becoming the most sought-after young center-forward in the world.

Following weeks of speculation that a deal with City had been reached, the Premier League club confirmed on Tuesday that the 21-year-old would be arriving at the Etihad Stadium this summer.

It’s a bit of a homecoming for Erling, whose father and now agent Alf-Inge Haaland played for City between 2000 and 2002, when he was still playing.

Here’s a rundown of Haaland’s prolific output, which saw him go from breakout wunderkind to one of the game’s most sought-after talents in just a few short years.

Haaland has 85 goals in 88 games for Dortmund, including 61 goals in 66 Bundesliga games, 15 goals in 13 Champions League games, eight goals in seven DFB Pokal games, and one goal in two German Supercup appearances (a precise ratio of 0.96 goals per game).
