The Archbishop of Nyeri Archidiodese Anthony Muheria on Sunday led 2000 Catholocs in celebrating the Corpus Christi .
The procession with Jesus in the Blessed Sacrament is major event in the calendar of the Catholic Church.
Muheria said the procession was a true show of faith by the Christian’s in Nyeri.
Muheria offered special prayers to President Uhuru Kenyatta, all County Governors and the youth.
” I pray to God to shower our leaders with wisdom , give them courage as they navigate delicate issues facing Kenya”, he said.
The Archbishop urged Christians to desist from participating in corruption since their baptism vows bar them from participating in the vice.
He also offered prayers for the protection of the Police, the Military and all security forces as they place their lives on line to protect Kenyans.
” We cant take the work of our security men and women for granted. Jesus, Present here in the Most Holy and Blessed Sacrement will protect and guide you” the Archbishop said.
To those in prison for various offences, you are not condemned. The Lord, who is ever forgiving and gracious will release and forgive your sins.
Muheria urged the youth, who are the future of Kenya to spring up and participate in the various economic activities provided by the County and National Governments.
He said Kenyan youth are very creative and should be provided with start up soft loans to achieve their goals.
Muheria expressed concern over rising mental conditions caused by stress and drug abuse and urged the youth to stay away from these vices.
Muheria said Church leaders must exhibit high moral and ethical standards, if Christians are to take them seriously.
” Church leaders, The Pope, Bishops, priests and all thise charged with guidance, that theey may have the moral authority and faithfulness to propose high ethical behaviour to all… , he said.
