Nairobi Expressway Nears Completion – PHOTOs

The Presidential Delivery Unit, headed by State House Chief of Staff Nzioka Waita has said the Nairobi expressway is 76 per cent complete.

Due to navigational challenges caused by the construction of the Nairobi Expressway, the Kenya National Highways Authority (Kenha) has offered alternative routes to motorists travelling along Uhuru Highway.

The route has recently faced traffic congestion, primarily due to road construction, particularly the construction of the 27-kilometer Expressway connecting the Jomo Kenyatta International Airport (JKIA) to the CBD and Westlands.

At the same time, the authority stated that the elevated part is 93% complete.

Traffic management along the Highway from Mlolongo to Westlands, according to Kenha, is still a vital component of the project, which is 98 percent complete.

The Nairobi Expressway, which began construction last year, has come at a cost to businesses and residents along Mombasa Road, with vehicles facing traffic jams.

The route will run for 27 kilometres throughout Nairobi and is designed to improve traffic flow.
