Nairobi Speaker Mutura Threatens Action against Staff

Tension has escalated at the Nairobi County Assembly following the recent release on bail of Hon. Mutura after his arrest and arraignment in Court.

Sources indicate that the board chaired by Hon. Mutura has vowed to deal ruthlessly with staff allied to majority leader of the County. A move that has caused fear amongst staff. 

Among those on the verge of getting fired are Tina Madara, who is accused of informing the DCI that Hon. Mutura was in the office on the day of attempted arrest early 2021.

Mr. Romeo Castro, the former acting clerk is currently interdicted. Mr. Romeo is accused of planning the arrest of the said speaker. 

Others likely to be fired includes staff in ICT, clerks chamber department who are seen as friendly to the majority leader as well as sergeants at arms.

Sources indicate the board is expected to meet next week to chat a way forward the said move by the speaker.
