Interior Secretary Fred Matiang’i has prolonged the statewide curfew for another 60 days.

The CS stated in a special gazette notification dated May 28 that the curfew hours will be in effect throughout the nation until the end of July 2021.
Matiang’i also stated that there would be no public meetings, processions, or movement, either alone or in groups, during the curfew time.
President Uhuru Kenyatta said during his previous address on May 1, 2021, that the hours of curfew in the Zoned Area will be altered to begin at 10 p.m. and conclude at 4 a.m.

All bars on Republic territory were to stay open until 7 p.m.
