OKA Breaks Silence Over ‘Secret Alliance’

One Kenya Alliance (OKA) has maintained that it will go to the polls united and not with political unions with either Raila Odinga or William Ruto.

The statement was made by the leadership of the party which came out to address rumours of secretive meetings saying the party will have its own flag bearer.

"In Conclusion, we wish to re-assure the public that OKA is united, strong and focused on its political mission. The process to identify our flagbearer is at an advanced stage." the statement read.

Former Lugari MP Cyrus Jirongo, speaking on behalf of the Alliance, told the media on Wednesday that the Oka principals will hold a retreat to determine their flagbearer.

During the retreat, Oka will go over the recommendations made by the alliance members’ joint technical committee.

In the run-up to the August elections, both the ANC leader and his Ford-K counterpart denied seeing Deputy President William Ruto.

"I have been in the media of late mostly for what I have not said, than what I have said. I am free to associate with anyone. But when I meet anybody, I will make it public, it will not be secret” Musalia Mudavadi added.

Kalonzo Musyoka, the Wiper party leader also called on fairness by pundits and media saying the bias is contributing to speculation that OKA is ‘struggling’.
