Nderitu Murithi, the governor of Laikipia, has been named to chair the presidential campaign board of ODM leader Raila Odinga.
The board would be the driving force behind the former prime minister’s presidential campaign to succeed President Uhuru Kenyatta.
Murithi is a former World Bank economist and financial markets expert who is now serving his first term.
He is the current chairperson of the Council of Governors’ finance, planning, and economic affairs committee, which he was elected to in January 2021.
Muriithi took office as Governor of Laikipia in 2017 and immediately set about reforming the county government to make it more professional and globally competitive.
Elizabeth Meyo was named as the board’s chief executive officer.
Meyo, who is now an IMF consultant, will be the secretariat’s chief executive officer, bringing with him almost three decades of administrative and strategic experience.
She is the former Commissioner of the Kenya Revenue Authority’s Domestic Taxes Department. During her time at the KRA, she did a lot of things.
