Police Inspector General Hillary Mutyambai has sent out a hearty letter to one Police Constable Mary Migwi, who is mourning the death of her children and house help.
On May 2, 2021, the four, Mary Wairimu (home help) and her children Leah Njoki-10 years, Teresiah Wanjiru-7 years and Mildred Agal 2 years.
Neighbors alerted the cops that the housekeeper had already attempted but failed to buy energy tokens.
She also chose to light a candle, which is thought to have resulted in the deaths of the four.
When neighbors saw smoke billowing from the window, they were alarmed, but they had no idea that there were people inside.
“This is a difficult and painful experience. PC Mary, it is not easy and my prayers are with you and your family. May God comfort you with peace that surpasses human understanding. I therefore extend my support to ensure the officer is settled.”
Former Nairobi governor Mike Sonko also pledged to help the officer in any capacity she wished.
