PS ICT and Digital Economy Holds Preparations Meeting Ahead of the Connected Africa Summit

    Eng. John Tanui, Principal Secretary for ICT and the Digital Economy, presided over a briefing on the arrangements for the Connected Africa Summit, which is scheduled to take place in April 2024 from April 2–5.

    Accompanied by Mr. Stanely Kamanguya, CEO of the ICT Authority, the PS mentioned that the Summit, the first of its type in Africa, will assist position the nation as a digital hub, both regionally and globally.

    More than ten African heads of state and past presidents, fifty ministers of information and communications technology, and partners in policy and development are expected to attend the summit.

    The event is anticipated to be attended by approximately 3,000 participants from the government and academics, including international investors, members of trade and chambers of commerce, chief executive officers, tech innovators, ICT enterprises, and micro, small, and medium-sized enterprises.

    Digital e-services, digital commerce and services, digital human capital and jobs, investment and manufacturing, trade industry, and green technology are the main topics of discussion during the summit.
