Raila, Karua Hold Meeting With Nairobi MCAs

Raila Odinga, the leader of Azimio la Umoja One Kenya, and Martha Karua hosted a luncheon for Nairobi MCAs who were elected under the banner of the coalition party on Thursday.

The purpose of the meeting, which was also attended by Kalonzo Musyoka, the leader of the Wiper party, was to lay out a plan for the MCAs’ future performance of their duties as members of a devolved unit.

“We spent part of the afternoon with Team Nairobi as part of our ongoing consultative sessions with various aligned groups,” Raila tweeted

Karua claims that the three Azimio leaders pressed the MCAs to act as a conduit between the public and the Nairobi County Assembly for the delivery of public services.

“Service delivery and oversight by devolved units remain a cornerstone of our agenda to the people of Kenya.”
