During the sting operation, a traffic cop cocked his gun, and another physically assaulted EACC detectives in order to escape being detained.
Officers, determined to finish their job, did manage to apprehend one traffic cop, a sergeant.
The policewoman was detained in a suspected bribery case, according to a report from the anti-graft agency.
EACC had received several complaints from the public about traffic cops requesting bribes on important routes in the Western region.
“One cop was arrested, another cocked his gun and fled the scene, and two others commandeered boda boda riders and escaped to the police station,” the official explained.

The apprehended female officer was transferred to the EACC Kisumu headquarters to be processed.
The arresting officer was found with a total of Sh950 in 100 and 50 notes.
