Ruto Awards Certificates To Kenyans For Completing Free Online Courses At Arizona State University

According to the President, "A 16-unit course that would have cost Ksh.100,000 is now accessible to Kenyans at the stadium for free, courtesy of Jamhuri Day celebrations,"

President William Ruto has presented certificates of completion to Kenyan graduates who enrolled in free online courses at Arizona State University last year.

The certificates were presented by the President on the second day of the ongoing Youth Connect Africa Summit 2023 at the Kenyatta International Convention Centre (KICC).

This comes after President Ruto announced during last year’s Jamhuri Day celebrations that everyone in attendance at Nyayo Stadium would receive a scholarship to Thunderbird School of Global Management at Arizona State University’s Global Entrepreneurship and Innovation programme.

According to the President, “A 16-unit course that would have cost Ksh.100,000 is now accessible to Kenyans at the stadium for free, courtesy of Jamhuri Day celebrations,”

Reflecting on the progress made since the announcement, President Ruto on Saturday expressed his satisfaction.

“To all the good people who took up the challenge when I made the announcement last year, it didn’t look real then, but today we have evidence that it is reality, and we have graduates here today with certificates.” said the president.

The President acknowledged the courage, innovation, and creativity displayed by the Kenyan graduates in embracing new spaces and acquiring new training.

He commended their commitment to expanding their scope of knowledge and understanding new ways of doing things.
