Kilifi Senator Stewart Madzayo has stated that the opposition will accept the result of the 2022 August general election if servers indicate that President William Ruto won.
Speaking on Spice FM on Wednesday, Madzayo stated that when servers are opened, Kenyans will breathe a sigh of relief as they will know whether their votes are counted in the August 9, 2022, elections.
“It is so simple, when we say to open the servers, what is the big deal about that? If you won, you won, if we have lost, we have lost,” he said.
The lawmaker stated that opening servers will necessitate the participation of experts from both Azimio and Kenya Kwanza.
The opposition, led by Azimio leader Raila Odinga, has been at the vanguard of requesting the opening and scrutiny of the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission servers.
Raila has since dismissed the results of the 2022 August elections, claiming that the declared government is illegitimate.
