Armed bandits raided several villages in the Lkeek Sabuk area of Samburu West, killing three people.
The Saturday morning killings occur at a time when KDF and GSU officers are combing the area for bandits.
An area chief and two locals were among those who died.
The three victims’ bodies were transported to the Samburu County Hospital Mortuary for postmortem examinations.
According to locals, bandits from a nearby community raided more than three villages and drove away hundreds of livestock.
The attack happened just a few hours after three security guards were ambushed by bandits in the same area and suffered serious gunshot wounds.
According to reports, two Kenya Defense Forces (KDF) officers and one General Service Unit (GSU) officer have been airlifted to Nairobi for further medical attention.
On Friday, bandits attacked the officers’ vehicles in Lkeek Sabuk, Samburu West Constituency, while they were on routine patrol.
