Ugandan Man Files Complaint Against Kenya

A Ugandan has filed a complaint against Kenya at the East African Court of Justice in Arusha on Friday, August 6.

The Republic of Kenya has been named as the respondent in court records and was given 45 days to make a response.

Dr. Paul Bamutaze filed the complaint in response to comments made by a part of Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) Members of Parliament during a press conference conducted in Parliament on Wednesday, August 4 against the National Resistance Movement (NRM).

“You are hereby notified that the above-mentioned applicant has instituted a reference against you, a copy of which is annexed hereto. You are hereby required to file a response within 45 days from the day of service hereof, the reference will be heard and determined in your absence,” reads an except of the document.

ODM Chairman John Mbadi accused Ugandan President Yoweri Museveni of imposing his political ideals on Kenya during the news conference.

“We are more interested in Ruto’s connection with Uganda than whether he was cleared or not,” the ODM chairman declared.

Junet Mohammed, the Suna East MP, claimed that Ruto’s trips to Uganda suggested that the DP would not concede if he lost the General Election next year.
