The appointment of Justice William Ouko as a Supreme Court Judge has been gazetted by President Uhuru Kenyatta.
The news was published in a special gazette notice on May 13, 2021.
“In exercise of the powers conferred by Article 106 (1) (b) of the Constitution, I, Uhuru Kenyatta, President Of the Republic of Kenya and Commander-in-chief of the armed forces appoints Ouko William Okello to be the judge of the Supreme Court of Kenya.” the Gazette notice read.
Justice Said Juma Chitembwe, Justice Marete Njagi, Justice Matthews Nduma, Justice William Ouko, lawyer Alice Yano, Justice Sergon Joseph Kiplagat, and Dr. Nyaberi Lumumba were among the six other candidates were interviewed by the tribunal.
This week, Justice Martha Koome was vetted for the Chief Justice post by parliament.
