Uhuru Commissions KDF Freshers In Eldoret

President Uhuru Kenyatta will preside over the Kenya Defence Forces pass-out parade at the Moi Barracks in Eldoret, Uasin Gishu County.

He arrived back in the country after spending almost a week in Scotland for the UN climate change meeting.

He was received by top Government officials at JKIA.

Uhuru returned on Thursday ahead of the planned pass-out, which would see thousands of recruits graduate following months of intensive military training.

The President will be accompanied by the Chief of Defence Forces Robert Kibochi and Defence CS Eugene Wamalwa.

The recruits are drawn from all corners of the country making the event a confluence of Kenyan cultures.

The public has been prevented from attending the colorful festival for the third time in its existence because of the coronavirus outbreak.

However, Covid 19 protocols will dent the event of its traditional color as those present must wear masks.
