A postmortem examination has revealed that US-Somali businessman Bashir Mohamud was strangled to death after being tortured.
According to the government Pathologist Johansen Oduor, Bashir’s body exhibited evidence of torture, including several blunt-object wounds on the head and burn marks on the body.
The postmortem was done in the presence of police officers from Dagoretti and officers from the Forensic Department of the DCI who then vowed to track down Bashir’s murderers.
His ordeal went public after news of his disappearance was shared by his family.
His car was later discovered burnt in Ngong, Kajiado County at Kibiko.
Bashir worked as a structural engineer and as the director of Infinity Development Company, which specializes in architectural services.
Among the projects on which Bashir’s firm worked was the Ksh600 million Uhuru Business Park in Kisumu.
He will be intermitted at Lang’ata cemetery, Nairobi county.
