Four Killed In Ruiru Train Crash

Four people died in the grissly accident after a cargo train collided with a truck. 

The driver, who is not authorised to carry passengers had been drinking for two hours before the accident. 

His canter lorry KBV 525Z is hired to transport construction materials in the Southern by Pass project.

The accident scene according to Kenya Railways, was an illegal crossing. 

As a result, the accident affected passenger train operations between Kahawa and the CBD. 

Kenya Railways has urged motorists to use designated  railway crossing areas to avoid collisions and accidents on the train tracks. 

Police officers and Kenya Railways staff were still at the scene by 10pm investigating the incident.
