Will Amaar Walji Stir Up The Watering Hole?

The event will be the 3rd of the five qualifiers for the ECASA and the 3rd of the four qualifiers for the WESPA Championship being held in Las Vegas

The last scrabble tournament of 2022 unearthed a gem by the name of Amaar Walji.

In a rare occurrence, his debut in competitive scrabble saw him bypass division C and win division B.

Many will be interested in his progression in the premier division colloquially referred to as The Animal Kingdom.

With the first tournament of the year happening over the weekend, he will have to prove his stripes in the unforgiving jungle of scrabble maestros and pundits.

The action will go down at the prestigious Standard Chartered Headquarters hosted by a group of aficionados who came together in 2014 under the moniker, ‘The Geeks’.

This event will be a culmination of their love for the game and their outlook on going big or going home.

The event will be the 3rd of the five qualifiers for the ECASA and the 3rd of the four qualifiers for the WESPA Championship being held in Las Vegas, USA in August 2023.

In the past year, Philip Mutinda rose to the top of the food chain and ultimately empowered the youth with his consistent stellar performance.

2023 might be the year he finally offsets the ever-steady Allan Oyende, Gitonga Nderitu, and Gongolo, ‘podium cartels’ as they are fondly referred to. In his footsteps, Richard Okechi, Duncan Mawondo, and Marion Awuor are slowly but surely destabilizing the Animal Kingdom’s ecosystem.

Truly, the pace has been set for 2023.
