Anthony Muheria, the Archbishop of Nveri Catholic Archdiocese, urges the State to investigate reports of remains being dumped in the Yala River.

Following allegations that over 30 dead had been taken from the river since August last year, Archbishop Muheria denounced the obvious disdain for human life, despite the government’s claim that just 19 bodies have been retrieved in two years.

During a special liturgy at Karatina University, the archbishop urged the government to be steadfast in its protection of human life.

“President Uhuru Kenyatta, Interior Cabinet Secretary Fred Matiang’i and all the relevant authorities must defend and protect life regardless of whether the victims are good or bad people,” he said.

Muheria also spoke out against the suicide and murder cases that have been recorded in the country, urging appropriate government authorities to investigate the matter in order to protect human life.
