A family of a 29-year-old man in Bondo, Siaya County is demanding justice after their kin died in police custody.

Vitalis Okinda is said to have died while being arrested at Bondo Police Station.

He had gone to get his motorcycle, which had been seized by authorities at the Bondo Sub-County Hospital facility, where he had apparently parked it to obtain the Covid-19 vaccination.

The family had wanted their son to be charged in Bondo Court instead of giving out Ksh40,000 that the police were demanding.

When the postmortem was done the results showed he had internal bleeding in the head which were caused by some beating.

The doctors at Bondo Sub-County Hospital said that he was brought to the hospital past midnight and that he was already dead and was taken directly to the morgue.
