Former Bungoma governor Wycliffe Wangamati has been appointed to chair the newly established county investment authority by Governor Joseph Lenku.

On Saturday, Lenku unveiled the board of the Kajiado Investment Authority, saying the county will benefit more if its investment opportunities are managed from a centralized platform by a competent team.

“In this regard, I have revealed the members of the Kajiado County Investment Authority’s board,” he said.

Wangamati, the former governor of Bungoma, will preside over the new authority, according to Governor Lenku.

Other members of Lenku’s authority’s board of directors include former senator Judy Pareno, Charles Ogada, and Joel Kanchori.

The county finance chief officer, Lekina Tutui, and the trade and investment chief officer, Tonic Moraa, will both be attending board meetings.

Lenku stated that among the key investment areas that the authority will prioritize are food security and resilience for both people and livestock, water provision for both domestic and agricultural use, and affordable housing such as eco-manyattas for rural communities.
