Kenya, Bangladesh Hold Inaugural Dhaka Consulations

Kenya and Bangladesh held the inaugural Foreign Office Consultations at the Foreign Service Academy in Dhaka today.

The Consultations were aimed at cementing the strong bonds of friendships between the two countries and identify new areas of future cooperation through reestablishing the Joint Commission for Cooperation and expand the scope to new areas of trade and investments, climate change, blue economy, renewable energy, tourism, agriculture

Amb. Moi Lemoshira Director General, Political and Bilateral Affairs led the Kenyan Delegation in the Consultations with the Government of the People’s Republic of Bangladesh. The Bangladesh team was led by Ms. Mashfee Binte Shams, Secretary (East), Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Bangladesh

Kenya and Bangladesh signed two Memoranda of Understanding (MOUs) – on Political Consultations and on Foreign Service Academy of the two countries.

The agreements were signed in Dhaka, by Amb. Moi Lemoshira Director General, Bilateral and Political Affairs for the Republic of Kenya and Ambassador Masud Bin Momen, Foreign Secretary, MFA for the Government of the People’s Republic of Bangladesh.

Accompanying the DG during the Consultations and signing of the MOUs were Amb. Stella Orina Ag. Director General Foreign Service Academy, , Ms. Winnie Wanjala, Director Asia, Australasia and Pacific and Deputy High Commissioner of Kenya to India Irene Oloo, of Kenya to India Irene Oloo among other MFA staff. Also Present were H.E. Mr. Tareque Muhammad and Mr. Mohammed Tarikul Islam, Director General Africa, MFA Bangladesh
