KFCB lauds Kamba leaders in ‘clean’ COVID-19 hit song

The Kenya Film Classification Board has applauded kamba leaders, led by Kitui Senator for supporting clean content, through the release of a COVID-19 themed song.

The track, that featured Kitui Senator Enock Wambua and other leaders, called for strict observance of COVID-19 guidelines in Kitui.

Kenya Film and Classification Board CEO Ezekiel Mutua who hosted the senator, congratulated the legislator for promoting clean content through ‘meaningful music’.

“Our participation in this initiative was inspired by the fact that this country is facing a major moral challenge and our belief that there is an urgent need to address the effects of moral decadence,” he said.

He challenged the media to take up the initiative and continue pushing clean content to the masses.

“This is a challenge to the media to realize that there are many leaders who are committed to promoting national unity, and being role models for our children.”

The song was done by several leaders from the lower Eastern region; drawn from Makueni, Kitui and Machakos counties.

While quoting the late pop star Michael Jackson, Wambua alluded his idea of the music video to give people hope.

“In 1995 when Ethiopia had famine, late Michael Jackson composes a song to give people hope, and following those footsteps, we come up this the song.”

“As leaders, we will nurture these talents, because their future is now. ” he said.

Senate Speaker Ken Lusaka who was among the leaders present, urged all leaders from the other regions of the country to unite, sensitizing the people on the importance of observing the Coronavirus guidelines put in place by the ministry of health.

“Let’s take this thing seriously and practice safe measures in order to fight this corona. Leaders should be careful about what they say. They are the role models of the country, therefore they should lead by example” he said.
