Kiambu Road Set For Dualling

The Kenya National Highways Authority (KeNHA) has proposed a plan to convert the Kiambu Road into a dual carriage highway.

The move is expected to open up Kiambu town and its environs, promoting infrastructural improvements in Nairobi and Kiambu counties.

Along Thika Route, the road begins at the Pangani and Muthaiga interchanges and continues through Kiambu Town to Ndumberi township.

Kiambu County has become a significant residential location for many Nairobi workers.

This has resulted in an increase in the number of vehicular traffic, which adds to the congestion on the tiny road.

In reality, due to the hourly flow of an estimated 1,824 vehicles along the motorways, both Thika Road and the Northern Bypass contribute to the heavy traffic experienced on Kiambu Road.
