Kianjokoma Six Released On Bond

Six police officers implicated in the death of two brothers in Kianjokoma, Embu county, have been released.

The court granted them a Ksh 3 Million bond with a 300,000 Cash bail alternative.

The six police officers are Benson Mputhia, Consolata Kariuki, Nicholas Cheruyoit, Martin Wanyama, Lilian Chemuna, and James Mwaniki.

The court also extended orders to three police officers, to never visit Kianjokoma or Embu County.

Each of the police officers submitted their permanent and temporary residences to the court and is expected to provide the contact of at least one person. 

Accused no 1 may be at liberty to transit at Embu County to or through his town meru but should not go 10 Kms close to Kianjokoma.

The court also ordered the six to contact or interfere with any member of the prosecution, directly or indirectly.

The six are expected to attend all court proceedings until the case is completed.

Brothers Benson Ndwiga and Emmanuel Ndwiga are said to have died while in the custody of the police officers after they were caught out during the nationwide curfew.

The pre-trial has been scheduled for November 10th, 2021.
