Police in Rachuonyo East, Homa Bay County, have launched an investigation into the mysterious death of a 45-year-old man who died on Tuesday night at a local pub within Ringa trading centre.
The man, later identified as Kennedy Onyango, is said to have collapsed and died on the spot around 8 p.m. while drinking alcohol with his friends at the bar.
According to Kawere sub-location Assistant Chief Juma Ondoro, foam could be seen around the deceased’s mouth after he died.
The administrator stated that they had taken some samples of the alcohol that the man and his friends were drinking for testing purposes.
Rachuonyo East sub-county police have since taken over the investigation to determine the exact cause of death.
The body has been moved to the Rachuonyo South Level IV hospital mortuary for a post-mortem examination.
