Opinion: Can DP Ruto defeat the system, deep state?

He surprised no one. Nor was the audience and intended recipient of the message in doubt.
Deputy President Willam Ruto has taken on the deep state, the same entity that smothered his way to the presidency in 2013.- By Henry Kimoli.

How?
They created the Uhuruto ticket as a reaction to the Hague case facing them.
Both cocooned to their communities…ironically the only two to ever rule Kenya to defeat Raila Odinga and Kalonzo Musyoka.

The deep state and the system contributed massively to the ticket and the eventual victory. The same faceless system intimidated Raila to accept defeat, after the Supreme Court verdict.

Is Ruto testing waters?

It would appear so. And for very good reasons. Look at the timing.

He chose a meeting with the Maasai Community leadership to issue a veiled threat to those opposed to his Presidency.

The reason is clear. The Maa is a scion of the Kamatusa political grouping deployed by former President Moi to cling to power for 24 years.

Maa refers to the Maasai, Samburu, and Borana communities. Kamatusa is an acronym for Kalenjin, Maasai communities.

This is the group Ruto was targetting. Maasai are to Kalenjins what the Meru is to the Kikuyu. Do you get it?Ruto, a political fixer per excellence decided to use the deep state handle for maximum percolation of his message.

Which message? That there will be dire consequences if anyone tries to steal his votes.
Is this borrowed from the archives of Raila Odinga past presidential campaigns? Is the DP preparing for a long battle with state agents or calling the bluff on his boss Uhuru Kenyatta?
