Slum-dwellers on high alert as Coronavirus cases rise to 355

The Ministry of Health has announced 12 more Coronavirus cases in Kenya, further raising the infected toll of the deadly virus to 355 – By Gerald Gekara.

Chief Administrative Secretary Dr. Rashid Aman in a press briefing on Sunday, said eight of the new cases were from Nairobi while four originated from Mombasa.

In Nairobi, Kibra reported 2 cases, while Karen, Dandora, Eastleigh, Kasarani, South B, and Umoja estates each recording one case in the last 24 hours.

Mombasa’s cases were from Mvita Kuze, Mishomoroni, Mvita-Bondeni, and Barsheba areas.

The number of recoveries rose to 106 after eight more patients were discharged. No deaths were reported today.

The National Emergency Response Committee on Coronavirus, issued further instructions, to test truck drivers at all border crossing points.

The Committee further directed County Governments to increase training of their health care workers in order to counter the countrywide shortage.
