Mandera county has reported the resurgence of the destructive desert locusts.
Governor Ali Roba, through a statement, said the marauding insects were invaded Rhamudimtu ward in Mandera North Sub-county.
According to agriculture experts, the insects originated from Ethiopia.
Approximately 2,000 hectares is under invasion by the destructive insects within the ward.

The locusts have affected the region which is reeling from drought and is feared may destroy pasture for the pastoralists living in the area.
