Charity Ngilu has stepped down ambitions to defend her seat in Kitui, ending a long-standing feud with Wiper Leader Kalonzo Musyoka.
Raila, a comrade in the arms of Ngilu since 1991, has been by her side since her days with the EACC hunt.
During the opening of the Kanyoonyoo-Syongila Road, Raila, then the Prime Minister said Ngilu cannot steal a coin..and with that Ngilu was sanitised.
Fast forward to 2022, Ngilu was staring at imminent defeat from Dr. Julius Malombe for Kitui Governor seat.
Raila again came to her rescue by promising her a big job in State House. Probably the Chief of Staff position or a Cabinet position.
Ngilu then withdrew her candidature for the position..leaving the battle to Musila and Malombe.
So why the truce?
Kalonzo has been in a foul mood since Sunday when an Azimio rally in Athi River turned nasty.
And Kitui is a game-changer for Ukambani politics, too important to leave to chance.
