On Sunday, police in Kirinyaga County arrested 23 students in a small pub in Mwea Constituency’s Ngurubani market.
Security officers from Wang’uru police station raided Club Season Ngurubani bar at 9 p.m. on Monday after receiving a tip from members of the public regarding kids drinking, according to Mwea-East Sub-county Police Commander Daniel Kitavi.
The learners were tough to apprehend since some of them who managed to flee were throwing stones at police officers after being joined by Ngurubani street boys.
“We were able to apprehend 11 girls and 12 boys,” the police commander added.
The 23 youngsters from Ngurubani and the neighboring areas will be arraigned Monday morning, according to Kitavi.
