Atwoli Re-Elected To ILO For A Record 4th Term

COTU Secretary General Francis Atwoli has been re-elected to the International Labour Organization’s Governing Body in Geneva, Switzerland, for a record fourth time.

During the 109th Virtual Session of the International Labour Conference, he was re-elected.

This implies that Atwoli will continue to represent Africa in the world’s highest decision-making body on human and labor rights.

The International Labor Organization (ILO) is a United Nations organization dedicated to promoting social justice and globally recognized human and labor rights, as well as following its fundamental purpose of labor peace as a prerequisite for development.

In his message to followers, Atwoli tributed Kenyan workers for co-operation that allowed him to secure the job.

“I’m humbled by all your congratulatory messages on my 4th re-election as a Member of the International Labour Organization (ILO) Governing Body. To all Kenyan workers, THANK YOU for your support that has given me recognition worldwide.I promise to continue serving you unwavering.”

The Vocal Trade Unionist was recently re-elected unopposed as COTU Secretary-General for the fifth term in office.

He is a recipient of both the Elder of the Burning Spear (EBS) and the Moran of the Burning Spear, (MBS) awards in recognition of his role in Championing for Social Justice.
