John Tanui, have this morning launched a JITUME Digital Laboratory at Mawego Technical Training Institute in Karachuonyo Constituency, Homabay County.

The Jitume Digital Laboratory is a government effort run by the Ministry of Information, Communications, and the Digital Economy to give young people digital skills that are suitable for the labour market.

The Ministry has provided the Mawego TTI with 100 computers, internet connectivity, and free opportunities for digital skills training through the Jitume Programme.

Jitume programme is a project funded by the Konza Innovation Ecosystem Initiative that aims to give young people access to digital services, digital skills, and opportunities so they may use technology to create jobs.

It encourages young people to take action on their own (Jitume) and gain access to digital tools and possibilities for learning, certification in 4IR skills, and employment in the digital sector.

The main obstacles that citizens face when utilising digital potential are addressed by Jitume, a package of programmes.

The difficulties include finding chances that can lead to a respectable and adequate salary as well as access to digital devices and internet connectivity, education, and training.
