Senate Majority Leader Kipchumba wants President Uhuru Kenyatta and ODM party leader Raila Odinga to come out and declare their agenda in the Building Bridges Initiative (BBI).

Murkomen spoke during the burial of Moses Kajwang’s mother at Homa Bay County. Raila and Senator James Orengo were among the leaders who attended the burial.

While addressing Raila directly the vocal Senator accused the two leaders of not coming clear on what they want to be included in the BBI report but instead, they have been hiding their agenda.

“I will speak as the majority leader in the senate and Jubilee. Stop asking us to reform the constitution yet you have not declared what you really want What do you and President Uhuru Kenyatta want to be included in the BBI. Tell us so we don’t waste time asking the people what they want yet you have not given the orders. If you want a full parliamentary system tell us and we shall pass it.” Murkomen said.

The Elgeyo Marakwet senator also stated that for the realization of BBI recommendations Raila and Ruto should join hands work together.

“We want to see Raila and Ruto work together, set aside your 2022 ambitions and ensure the implementation of the BBI because it is what can transform the country at the moment,” Murkomen said

According to Murkomen a referendum is only going to burden Kenyans yet the recommendations can be passed and the purpose of BBI would still be achieved.
