The third Clean Cooking Week 2022 was officially begun by Principle Secretary Energy Dr. Kahalangwa on behalf of CS Energy & Petroleum Mr. Davis Chirchir.

The occasion served to launch three promotional vehicles for raising awareness as well as a USSD Platform to facilitate access to clean cooking solutions.

The gathering of industry participants allowed them to discuss important challenges facing the Clean Cooking Sector.

The forum was utilized by sector stakeholders to increase the visibility of clean cooking initiatives on a national and local level.

Around 40 million Kenyans lack access to modern energy cooking, which is defined as using cleaner fuels and energy-efficient modern stoves. Instead, they use conventional biomass or harmful fuels to cook.

The percentage of the population that primarily use clean cooking fuels and technology for cooking is known as access to clean fuels and technologies. Kerosene is not included in the list of clean cooking fuels under WHO recommendations.

We learn about health through clean cooking. Numerous ailments, including TB and eye issues, were brought on by traditional stoves. Collecting firewood and keeping an eye on the fire both took a lot of time.

The Clean Cooking Program will effectively advance the agenda through technical support, professional counsel, direct and leveraged financing, assessments, and studies.
