The electoral commission’s month-long voter verification exercise concludes Thursday at midnight.

The verification exercise commenced on 4th May, 2022 and has been ongoing in various constituencies to allow eligible voters to confirm their details.

According to the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC), eligible voters must visit their registration centers to verify their National Identity number, names and registered polling station.

A voter can also send an SMS to 70000 with their ID/passport number to verify their details, or they can access the Commission’s website portal https://verify.iebc.or.ke/.

If one’s information is incorrectly captured, they should go to their registration center.

The electronic voter verification process is being carried out across the country as well as in 12 other countries: Canada, the UAE, the United Kingdom, the United States, Qatar, South Africa, Germany, Rwanda, Burundi, Uganda, Tanzania, and South Sudan.

The completion of the verification process allows for the gazetting of the final register, which will be ready by June 9 for use in the August 9 elections.
